Prayes for Aleli
Tweet
There are a few specific things for which people can be praying for Aleli. The first, of course, is her continued growth. Every day that she eats, sleeps, digests, and grows she becomes healthier and stronger and just a little bit closer to coming home.
There are a few specific things for which people can be praying for Aleli. The first, of course, is her continued growth. Every day that she eats, sleeps, digests, and grows she becomes healthier and stronger and just a little bit closer to coming home.
However, she has been exhibiting signs of stomach reflux. The "valve" from the esophagus to the stomach is not fully developed in newborns, let a lone premature newborns. Therefore, it is very common for preemies to have stomach reflux. This reflux can really bother and disturb Aleli, causing her to hold her breath (stop breathing, which drops her oxygen level), not rest very well, and not digest her food very well. Of course, these are all the things we want her to be doing to continue growing!
The doctors choose not to give any medication, as this might change the bacteria makeup in her stomach acids, but instead they do simply remedies like have the baby sleep in a more upright position. Other than that, there isn't much to do. So please, pray specifically that Aleli's reflux will not be an issue, that her food will stay in her stomach, and that she will be able to rest peacefully.
The prayers of friends and loved ones have been so crucial to Aleli's development and growth so far, and so we are turning to you for help again in this area. We greatly appreciate your prayers and intercession for Aleli.
