Thank You
Tweet
Kellye and I arrived home last night just before 1am, after spending 5 full days in the hospital. We were tired, to say the least. But we were welcomed home by a clean house (probably the cleanest its been since we moved in!), flowers everywhere, meals prepared, a stocked refrigerator, and cookies on the counter. We felt blessed, loved, and very grateful.
This is just one example of the great love our friends and family have exhibited toward us over the past few days, and I wanted to communicate to you all how thankful we are. Due to the severity of Kellye's recovery, and our desire to be in the NICU with Aleli, we have had to limit the number of visitors while at the hospital. Its hard to tell close friends "No, stay away." In truth, we want to see you all! We want to throw a big party with everyone we know and proclaim, "We are parents!! We have a daughter!!"
But since we can't do that yet, we are going through the motions of tracking meds, following Aleli's progress in detail, signing paperwork, and looking ahead to the future. Each and every one of you has been so supportive, so prayerful, such beautiful examples of God's great family of love - and again, we are nothing but thankful.
I especially want to thank our parents, Marc, Mary, Tim and Twyla. They have showed up at the hospital in less than an hour when we texted and said, "Hungry! Dinner! Now!" They have stayed away when we said, "Sorry, no visitors." They have visited Aleli and loved her deeply, even though we won't let them hold her yet :) We couldn't do this without them, and we only hope that we will live up to their great example of parenthood.
So, once again, and I'm sure I'll say it a thousand times again - Thank you.
